IMDb page about Jaws
Studio(s): Universal Studios Hollywood - Sony Pictures Studios
Shot mostly on location at Martha's Vineyard, this classic summer blockbuster had a troubled shoot with the shark(s) being a major headache.
The shark (named 'Bruce' after Spielberg's lawyer) found a spiritual home at Singapore Lake on the Universal Studios Hollywood Studio Tour, where he's been scaring guests since 1976.
One additional sequence was shot on a lake on the Universal Studios backlot (night-time sequence on the boat, mostly shot from above), presumed to be Park Lake.
Some of the underwater scenes for the shark cage sequence were shot in the outdoor tank at MGM Studios (now Sony), using a stuntman (Richard Warlock) standing in for Richard Dreyfuss and a mechanical shark.
Additional underwater scenes were shot with little person Carl Rizzo in a reduced scale cage and a real-life shark. These were shot by Valerie Taylor in Australia.
