Dates: Stage 16 was built in 1935/36.
Formerly known as Stage 7.
Now one of the tallest stages in the world, Stage 16 was raised 30 feet just after construction in 1935, to allow for the filming of the musical finale of ‘Cain and Mabel’ – see film clip below about the stage!
The stage also includes a 2,000,000 gallon water tank which was used in The Perfect Storm.
