Dates: Built in 1939 for Four Wives.
Just off Midwest Street is a residential avenue of houses, named after the Ronald Reagan movie Kings Row which was shot there. It is also known simply as Residential Street. Many studio lot maps do not label it Kings Row, but a continuation of Midwest Street.
It was originally longer than the current Kings Row (see maps below). Two houses at the end of Kings Row were removed in 2014 to be replaced by a Friends ‘Central Perk’ display used on the Studio Tour.
PAGE UNDER CONSTRUCTION – Adding information on specific houses.
Roughly Speaking House #0 (1939 – 1952)
This set was originally located on Midvale Street (see first photo below), and was moved a short distance to form the start of Kings Row in 1939, and remained at that location until July 9, 1952, when a fire destroyed Midwestern Street sets. The church set in Midwestern Square is now in the approximate former location of this set. [Information & Photos from Dave Potter, with thanks]
Corner House #1 (also on Midwest Street)
Emily’s house on Pretty Little Liars, and Kim’s Antiques on Gilmore Girls
House #2 Deagle Home (also on Midwest Street)
Featured in Gremlins (1984) as Mrs Deagle’s house, in Eastwick (2009) and as the Haunted House in Pretty Little Liars.
House #3

House #4 – The Phoebe House
Home to the actor Phoebe Cates in Gremlins (1984) and the character Phoebe Buffay in Friends.

House #5
This was the set that replaced Storm Warning and Dark Victory houses after the 1952 fire (see below)
Built around 1953.
Removed in 2014 for the new Studio Tour buildings.
House #6 – Dr Tower
This was the ‘Dr Tower’ house from the Kings Row movie. It was burned down in 1952, but rebuilt to the same designs. In common with all facades, elements are changed around to keep the sets looking fresh. It was also the house in Elvira: Mistress of the Dark.
Removed in 2014 for the new Studio Tour buildings.
Studio Tour Facade (2014 – present)
Facade built in 2014 to hide the Studio Tour buildings, including the Central Perk display.
Storm Warning House
Shown here in King of the Lumberjacks, 1940. Burned down in 1952.
Dark Victory House
